Eric Draitser of StopImperialism.org appears on RT (October 6, 2015) to discuss Russia’s ongoing airstrikes against ISIS/ISIL in Syria. Draitser explains that the use of human shields by terrorists demonstrates the importance of cooperation between air and ground forces, and that Russia’s strategy of partnering with the Syrian government is absolutely correct. He notes that any effective counter-terrorist operation requires a combination of air and ground forces, precisely what Russia has argued. He further adds that this demonstrates the weakness of the US strategy which seeks to both attack ISIS and the Syrian government, making real progress all but impossible.
