Eric Draitser appears on Community Public Radio’s CPR News (June 3, 2015) to discuss the latest developments in the ongoing war in Ukraine. Draitser explains that the increased shelling and other attacks perpetrated by Kiev against the people of Donbass signal an important escalation of this conflict, one that could see both the humanitarian and political situation further deteriorate. He notes the innumerable war crimes being committed by the US-backed Ukrainian regime, including the shelling of civilians in Donetsk and surrounding areas, as well as Kiev’s political goals: submission, subjugation, and ethnic cleansing of the Russian-speakers of the East. Draitser also explains the hypocrisy of the western media’s coverage of the conflict, as well as the shifting strategy from Kiev. He discusses the significance of the appointment of former Georgian President Saakashvili as Governor of Odessa, and what implications that could have on the war as a whole.
