He explains that, though the US has provided no specific information regarding what these men were doing in the country, there is a mountain of historical evidence showing espionage and destabilization of Pyongyang by the CIA and other intelligence agencies. Draitser notes that similar incidents have occurred in places like Venezuela, Bolivia, Iran, and Cuba. He adds that US intimidation of North Korea is counter-productive and breeds mutual distrust and hate.
